I then slap some filter on a random sketch I drew to show that I'm not dead, even tho it looked better without the filter.

Pretty! you need to show me the one without the filter 
though it's true that many wont think twice of seeing a new painting by someone they watch, I think it's more about archiving your artworks for yourself, and having an online presence will always assist you if you keep it up
